1 John 1

¹What was from the beginning, what we have heard, and have seen with our eyes, what we have gazed at, and our hands have handled, concerning the message of life. ²Now that message was revealed, and we saw it, and we testify and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us. ³What we have seen and heard, we proclaim also to you, so that you might have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. ⁴Now we write these things to you, so that our joy may be complete.

⁵Now this is the message that we heard from him and proclaim to you. God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. ⁶If we say that we have fellowship with him, but we are walking in the darkness, we are lying, and we do not behave in a genuine way. ⁷But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another. And the blood of his Son Jesus Christ is cleansing us from every sin. ⁸If we say that we don't have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. ⁹If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰If we say taht we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his message is not in us.
