2 Corinthians 12

⁶For if I wish to boast, I won't be foolish, since I speak the truth. But I am sparing you, so that nobody will think things that are better than what is seen and heard of me, even in reference to these awesome revelations. ⁷Therefore a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, to torment me, so that I might not exalt myself. ⁸I entreated the Lord three times to take it this thorn away from me, ⁹but he said to me, "My grace is enough for you, for strength is brought to maturity {perfection or completeness} in weakness." Therefore I'm pleased to boast instead in my weaknesses, so that the Christ's power will live in me. ¹⁰So I rejoice in my weaknesses, in mistreatment, in stress, in persecutions and in anguish in behalf of Christ, for it's when I'm weak that I'm actually strong.
