2 Corinthians 5 1For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a place constructed by God, an eternal dwelling place not made with hands, in the heavens. 2For even if we groan in this earthly dwelling becasue we desire to put on the heavenly, 3If indeed when we take off the earthly, we will not be naked. 4For while we are in these tents we groan under the heavy burden, not just because we want to take them off, but because we want to put on the heavenly, so that death can be swallowed in life. 5But the one who does all this in us is the same God who gave us the guarantee of the Spirit.
6So we're always confident though we know that while we are in the body we're away from the Lord. 7For we walk by faith, and not by sight. 8But we're confident and we would rejoice even more to be away from the body and present with the Lord. 9Therefore our ambition to please the Lord, whether we are with him or away. 10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that we may each receive due reward for the things done in the body, whether good or bad.
Ministry of Reconciliation 11So knowing the fear of the Lord we try to persuade people, but it is already clear to God who we are. And I hope we have also become well-known to your consciences. 12We're not recommending ourselves to you again, but we're giving you an excuse to boast about us again, so that you may have a response to those who boast in appearance and not in the heart. 13For if we are out of our minds, it's for God, if we are wise, it's for you. 14For the love of God keeps us on track, because we judge that one has died for all, therefore all have died. 15And one died for everyone, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but rather for the one who died and was raised.
16So from now on we don't know anyone according to the flesh. And if we did know Christ according to the flesh, we don't know him that way any more. 17So that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have gone, everything has become new. 18And all things come from god, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 19It's as though God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not counting their transgressions against them, and placing in us the word of reconciliation. 20So we act as ambassadors for Christ as God makes his appeal through us. We beg you for Christ's sake, be reconciled to God.
21The one who didn't know sin, he made sin on our behalf so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. Average revision: 3 (Draft # 1 by individual translator)
