Exodus 3

Moses was tending his father-in-law, Jethro's sheep. Jethro was the priest of Midian. And he led the sheep across the desert to the mount of God, Horeb. 2And an angel of YHWH appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush. He looked and the bush was burning with fire, but it was not consumed.

And Moses said, "I will turn aside and see this great vision, and find out why the bush doesn't get burned up."

And God saw that Moses turned aside to look, and he called out to him from in the bush, "Moses! Moses!" And Moses said, "Here I am!"

And God said, "Don't approach! Remove your sandals from your feet, because the place where you are standing is holy ground.

And he said, "I am the God of your father Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. So Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. 7And YHWH said, "I have truly seen how my people who are in Egypt are afflicted, and I have heard their cry under their oppressors, and I know their pain. 8"Now I am going to come down to same them from the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place where the Canaanite, Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Hivit and Jebusite live. 9"And now the cry of teh children of Israel has come to me, and I have also seen the way that Egypt has oppressedd them. 10"So look! You go! I will send you to Pharaoh, and you will bring my people, the children of Israel, from Egypt."

And Moses said to God, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel from Egypt."

And God said, "Because I will be with you, and this will be the sign to you, that I have sent you to bring my people out of Egypt: You will worship God on this mountain."

But Moses said to God, "Look! Suppose I come to the children of Israel, and I say to them, 'The God of your fathers sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is his name?' What shall I say to them?

And God said to Moses, "I will be whatever I will be!" And he continued, "This is what you will say to the children of Israel, 'I Will Be' has sent me to you."

And again God said to Moses, "Thus will you speak to the children of Israel, 'YHWH, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob, sent me to you.' This is my name forever, and this is my memorial from generation to generation.

Go! Gather the elders of Israel, and say to them, 'YHWH, God of you fathers appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, "I will surely avenge you and the things that the Egyptians have done to you." 17I declare that I will bring you out of the oppression of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey." 18And they will listen to your voice and you and the elders of Israel will go to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, "YHWH God of the Hebrews met us. Now let us go three days journey into the desert so we can sacrifice to YHWH our God." 19But I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go, except with powerful intervention.'

"And I will stretch out my hand, and I will strke Egypt with all of my wonders, that I will do in its midst, and afterward, he will send you out." 21And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, and they will send you not send you out empty. 22And a woman will ask from her neighbor or any woman who lives in her neighbors house for silver and gold items and clothes, and they will use it to dress your sons and your daughters, and you will despoil the Egyptians.'"
