John 14 1Don't let your hearts be troubled. You in believe in God, believe in me also. 2There are many rooms in my Father's house. If that weren't true, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and bring you along with me, so that where I myself am, there you might be also. 4And you know the way where I am going. 5Thomas says to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going. How can we know the way?" 6Jesus says to him, "I myself am the way, the truth and the life. Nobody can come to the father except through me. 7If you have known me, you have known the father also. And from now on you know him, and you have seen him. 8Philip says to him, "Lord, show us the father, and that will be enough for us." 9Jesus says to him, "I've been with you this long, and you don't know me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the father. How do you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10Do you not beve that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak, I don't speak from myself, but the Father who remains in me does His works.
11Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. But if not, believe because of the works themselves. 12Absolutely truly I tell you, The one who believes in me will do the same works that I do, and greater works than these he will do because I am going to the Father. 13And whatever you ask in my name, I will do it, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.
The Comforter 15If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
16And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another comforter/advocate, so that he might be with you forever. 17The spirit of truth, which the world cannot receive, because it doesn't see him, neither does it know him. You know him, because he remains among you and he will be in you. 18I will not leave you orphans, I will come to you. 19In just a little time, the world will no longer see me, but you see me, because I am alive, and you will live. 20In that day you yourselves will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me and I am in you. 21The one who has my commandments and keeps them, that one is the on who loves me. And the one taht loves me will be loved by my father, and I wll love him, and will reveal myself to him." 22Judas (not Iscariot) says to him, "Lord, and what will happen that you are about to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?"
23Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my father will love him and I will go in to him and I will make a room for him. 24The one who doesn't love me doesn't keep my words, and the word which you hear is not mine, but it is of the Father who sent me.
Work of the Comforter 25I have spoken these things to you while remaining among you. 26But the advocate/comforter, the Holy Spirit, which the Father will send in my name, that one will teach you all things, and will make you remember all the things that I said to you. 27I leave you peach, I give you my peace. I don't give peace to you as the world gives it to you. Don't let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 28You have heard that I said to you, 'I'm going and I will come to you. If you love me you will rejoice that I am going to the father because the father is greater than me. 29And now I have told you before it happened, so that whenever it happens, you might believe. 30No longer will I say many things with you, for the ruler of this world is coming and he has nothing in me. 31But so that the world might know that I love the Father, and just as the Father commanded me, so I do. Rise up, let's go out.
