John 15

1I myself am the genuine vine and my father is the gardener. 2Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes (it) away, and every one bearing fruit he prunes it so that it might bear more fruit. 3You are already clean because of the message that I hae spoken to you. 4Remain in m, and I en you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself except it remains in the vine, thus neither (can) you except you remain in me. 5I myself am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him, this one bears much fruit, because witout me you can do nothing. 6If anyone does not remain in me, it is thrown out as the branch and it dries up and they gather them together and the throw it in the fire and it is burned. 7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you want, and it will happen to you. 8In this is the father glorified, so that you might bear much fruit and you might be my disciples. 9Just as the father loved me, so also I love you. Remain in my love. 10If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love just as I have kept my father's commands and I remain in his love.

11I have spoken to you, so that my joy might be in you, and your joy might be complete. 12This is my command, that you love one another just as I loved you. 13Nobody has greater love than this, that he lays down his life for his friends. 14You are my friends if you do that which I command you. 15I no longer call you slaves, because the slave doesn't know what the master is doing. But you I have called frinds, because everything that I heard from my father, I made known to you. 16You did not choose me, but I chose you, and I appointed you that you should go and bear much fruit and your fruit might remain, so that whatever you ask the father in my name he might give you. 17These things I command you, so that you might love one another.

18If the world hates you, know taht it [has] hated me first. 19If you were of the world, the world would love its own, but because you are not of the world, but I chose you from the world because of this the world hates you. 20You remember the word that I spoke to you, "The slave is not greater than his lord." If they persecuted me, they will persecute you. If you kept my word, they will also keep your word. 21But all these things they will do to you because of my name, because they don't know the one who sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not ahve sin, but now they don't have any excuse for their sin. 23The one who hates me also hates my father. 24If I did not do among them things which nobody else did, they would not have sin. But now they have seen and they have hated both me and my father. 25But [they did this] so that the word might be fulfilled which was written in their law, "They hated me without cause."

26When the advocate/comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the father, the spirit of truth, who goes out from the father, that one will testify concerning me. 27And you also bear witness, because you are with me from the beginning.
