John 21 1After these things Jesus revealed himself again to the discples on the sea of Tiberias. Now he revealed himself in this way: 2Simon Peter and Thomas called Didymus and Nathaniel from Cana of Galilea and the (sons) of Zebedee and two other disciples. 3Simon Peter says to them, "I am going fishing." They say to him, "We're coming with you!" They went and got in the boat, and they caught nothing that night. 4But when it was already becoming early morning, Jesus stood on the shore, yet the disciples didn't know that it was Jesus. 5Then Jsus says to them, "Children, do you not have anything to eat?" They answered him, "No." 6And he said them, "Cast the net on the right hand side of the boat, and your will find some." So they cast it, and they were no longer able to draw in the net because of the quantity of fish. 7Then the disciple that Jesus loved said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" Then Simon Peter, hearing that it was the Lord, put on his coat, for he was naked, and he threw himself into the sea, 8but the other disciples went with the boat, for they were not far from the land, but about 200 cubits. 9Then as they disembarked onto the land, they saw a fire laid, and a little fish lying on it, and bread. 10Jesus says to them, "Bring some of the fish that you just caught." 11Then Simon Peter came up and drew the net onto the ground, filled with big fish, 153. And even though there were so may, the net didn't tear. 12Jesus says to them, "Come, and have breakfast." But none of the disciples dared to inquire of him, "Who are you?" Because they knew that it was the Lord. 13Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and the fish likewise. 14This was the third time that Jesus showed himself to his disciples after he rose from the dead.
Jesus Questions Peter 15So when they had eaten, Jesus says to Simon Peter,"Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He says to him, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." He (Jesus) says to him, "Feed my lambs." 16He says to him a second time, "Shepherd my sheep." 17Jesus says to him a third time, "Do you love me?" And he says to him, "Lord, you know all things, you know that I love you." Jesus says to him, "Tend my sheep. 18Very truly I tell you, when you were a young man, you dressed yourself and you walked about wherever you wished, but when you get old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and will take you where you don't want to go." 19Now he said this signifying what type of death he would glorify God with. And having said this he said thim, "Follow me!" 20Peter turned and saw the disciple that Jesus loved following, the one who reclined on Jesus' chest and had said, "Lord, who is it that will betray you?" 21Now Peter, seeing this guy, says to Jesus, "What about this one?" 22Jesus says to him, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is it to you? As for you, follow me!" 23This word went out among the brothers, that that disciple would not die, but Jesus didn't tell him that he would not die, but said, "If I want him to remain until I come, what is it to you?" 24This is the disciple who is testifying concerning these things and the one who has written these things, and we know that his testimony is genuine. 25But there are also many other things that Jesus did, which, if they were written one by one, I don't believe that the whole world would contain the books that would be written.
