John 5 1After these things there was a Jewish feast and he went up to Jerusalem. 2Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a pool which is call Bethzatha in Hebrew, which has 5 porches.
3In these were lying a crowd of sick people, blind, lame and withered. 4 5And there was a certain man there who had been sick for 38 years.
6Jesus saw him lying there and he knew that he'd already been there for a long time. He said to him, "Do you want to be healthy?" 7The sick man answered, "Sir, I don't have anybody who can throw me into the pool when the waters are troubled. When I get there, someone else has always gone in before me." 8Jesus said to him, "Get up, take your mattress and walk!" 9And immediately the man became healthy and he took his mattress and walked. 19Then Jesus answered and said to them, "I tell you very truly, the Son is not able to do anything of himself, unless he sees the Father doing it. The things that he does, those are the ones that the Son does in the same way.
20For the Father loves the Son, and shows him everything that he does, and he will show him greater works than these so that you may be amazed.
21For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, the Son gives life to those he wants to. 22For the Father doesn't judge anyone, but has given all judgment to the Son, 23so that everyone might honor the Son just as they honor the Father."
