Revelation 21

1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more, 2and I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, descending from heaven from God, prepared as a bride decked out for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, God's tent is with humanity, and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them, their God, 4and he will wipe away each tear from their eyes, and death will no longer exist, nor mourning nor crying, nor will there be pain any more, because the first things have passed away."

5And the one who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I am making everything new." And he said, "Write it down! For these words and faithful and true." 6And he said to me, "It's done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. 7"Those who win the victory will inherit these things, and I will be their God, and they will be my children. 8"But as for the cowardly, unfaithful, detestable, murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and to all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death." 9And one of the seven angels who had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the lamb's wife." 10And he took me in the spirit onto a great and high mountain, and he showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God. 11The city had the glory of God. Its light with like a precious stone, like crystal, jasper. 12It had a great and high wall, with 12 gates, and at the gates 12 angels. There are names written on the gates--the names of the 12 tribes of Israel. 13At the east there are three gates, from the north three gates, from the south three gates, and from the west three gates. 14And the city wall has 12 foundations, and on the 12 foundations are the names of the 12 apostles of the lamb.

15And the one who was speaking with me had a golden measuring rod so he could measure the city and its gates and its wall. 16And the city is square, its length is equal to its width. He measured the city with the measuring rod, 12,000 stades--the length and the width and the height of it are equal (or symmetrical). 17And he measure its wall, 144 cubits, the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. 18And the wall is made of Jasper, and the city of pure gold like clear glass. 19The foundations of the wall are each decorated with a precious stone. The first foundation is jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedon, the fourth emerald, 20The fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh hyacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. 21And the 12 gates are 12 pearls, each of the gates is made of one pearl. And the streets of the city are pure gold, transparent as glass.

22But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the all-powerful is its temple and the Lamb. 23And the city doesn't have need of the sun, neither of the moon to give light in it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its light is the lamb. 24And the nations shall walk by means of its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it, 25and its gates shall never be closed by day, for there is no night there. 26And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it. 27And nothing impure or that commits abomination or a lie shall enter it, but only those who are inscribed in the lamb's book of life.
