Romans 12

1I earnestly ask you, brothers and sisters, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice through God's mercy. That's your reasonable service. 2And don't be developed according to the pattern of this age, but instead be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you can correctly understand what is God's good, pleasing, and perfect will.

3For by the grace that has been given to me I say to all those who are among you, "Don't think more highly of yourselves than you ought to, but regard yourselves sensibly, each one according to the faith God has measured out to them. 4For just as in one body there are many parts, and no two parts have the same function, 5so we, though many, are one body in Christ. Individually we're members of one another. 6Since we have different gifts according to the grace God has given, let's use them, if it's prophecy, use it according to the proportion of your faith, 7if it's service, use it in service, if it's teaching, use it in teaching, 8If it's in exhortation, then exhort, the one who shares do it generously, the one who leads, zealously, the one who is merciful, with joy.

9Don't let your love be hypocritical. Be repelled by evil. Be bound tightly to the good. 10With brotherly love treat one another as family, preferring one another in honor. 11Don't be lazy in doing your best, be spiritually on fire, serve the Lord. 12Rejoice in hope, endure trials, be diligent in prayer. 13Be a partner in taking care of the saints. Pursue hospitality. 14Bless those who persecute you. Bless, and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. 16Be even-handed in dealing with one another, not thinking yourselves above everyone else, but associating with the lowly. Don't think of yourself as extraordinarily wise. 17Never return evil for evil, but think of good things before all people. 18If it is possible, live at peace with all people. 19Don't take revenge for yourselves, but give place to anger. For it is written, "'Vengeance is mine, I will repay,' says the Lord." (Deuteronomy 32:35) 20Instead, "If your enemey is hungry, give him something to eat. If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in doing this you will pile up coals of fire on his head." 21Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
