Amazon UnSpun

I was checking out the Amazon.com associates blog today and found a couple of items that interest me. The first is Amazon.com UnSpun which is simply a list service. Those involved in AWS may be interested to know that it uses the Amazon Mechanical Turk to initial populate new lists. It does not currently provide any commissions, but the content can be interesting. For example, the following is a list of WYSIWYG editors, ranked by users:

And another list that includes many of my own favorites, the most important open source projects:

Users may find these lists quite interesting. I think it is too bad they are so wide. I had thought of using them in my sidebar, but I haven’t experimented with that yet. Off hand they look too wide.
