With Norton Anti-Virus and Internet Security 2006 I reluctantly quit recommending Norton for everything. It was using too much in the way of resources, and it was too expensive for the value provided. In a number of cases internet providers were offering free services that were less obtrusive and worked, at least for home clients.
I haven’t tested NIS 2008, but here’s a different viewpoint on the newer version.

As a result of this post, I’ve installed the Opera browser on my Ubuntu Linux machine (Feisty Fawn). I’ll post more on it later, but for now I am impressed with speed and ease of use. If it’s good enough, you may see an Opera button appear on the left sidebar.
